Mary Magdalene or Mary of Magdala (Hebrew: מרים המגדלית, ancient Greek: Μαρία Μαγδαληνή) was a , pupil of Jesus. Lucas 8: 2 introduces her as " Mary, called Magdalene” (Statenvertaling) or” Mary from Magdala" (.NBV). Magdala was a fishing village on the West Bank of the Lake of Tiberias. Her holiday is on July 22.
