Altar cross, late 17th century

Altar cross with Mary and John mourning under the cross with the crucified Jesus. On a lobed foot decorated with floral motifs and leaves and tassels. On the back of the Cross are the so-called’ Arma Christi ' (arms of Christ) or the instruments of the passion such as: crown of thorns, Rooster, hammer etc. (a total of 17 objects in detail) the pedestal on which Mary and John stand is supported by Renaissance-style female figures. The skull and bones – symbol of Golgotha – are supported by leaves. All cast figures are skillfully chiseled.

Fire gilding over the entire surface.
