Jean Baptiste (Jan Baptist of Johannes Baptist) Tétar van Elven (Amsterdam, February 11, 1805 – Voorschoten,- 27 July 1889) was a Dutch engraver and artists of church interiors, cityscapes and portraits. He was the father of Pierre and Joseph and a half-brother of Paul Tétar van Elven allen painter by profession. From 1834 he was the director of The Drawing School of the Society for the benefit of the general public in Amsterdam.
