A France Louis XIV Boulle ‘religieuse’
J. B. BAILLON, Paris
De Boulle case
The Cabinet is fully veneered with tortoiseshell with brass and pewter inlays. The floral curls and leaves are also engraved. The technique is named after Charles Andre Boulle a cabinetmaker and designer who worked at the Court of Louis XIV. The glass of the front door is flanked by two pilasters with bronze Corinthian capitals. The foot has protruding corners and is placed on twisted legs.
