Gregory The Great
The Saint Gregory (Rome, ca. 540 – therein, 12 March 604), nicknamed the Great, it was the 64th Pope from the Catholic Church. He held it pontificate from 590 until his death in 604 and counts as one of the patristic. Paus Bonifatius VIII granted him in 1295 the honorary title of church teacher. His feast day is 3 september in the Roman Catholic Church; the Eastern Orthodox churches and the Eastern Catholic churches celebrate his holiday on 12 March.
