Blasius or Saint Blaise (probably died around 316) is a Saints in the Roman Catholic Church and also in the Eastern Orthodox churches. Not much is known about him other than by later legends. He would bishop have been from the Turkish city Sebaste. The persecution of Christians under the emperor Licinius (311-323) he was arrested while hiding in a forest. He would be a martyrdom died by beheading after being tortured first,[1] among other things, with wool Combs (kaarden).
Blasius is best known as the patron saint of those suffering from throat disorders, such as angina, hiccup, mumps, sprue, asthma and croup.
